Joshua Tree Family Photography on Film + Digital
Family photographs don't have to feel formal to become part of your family's history. For this Joshua Tree National Park session, we explored the desert with their blue Jeep, changed outfits along the way, and photographed everything from quiet portraits to the pieces of their family that actually feel like them—including their love for the Coachella Valley Firebirds. I photographed the session on both 35mm film and digital, letting the landscape, movement, and connection lead the way. Joshua Tree is one of my favorite places to photograph families because there is room here for portraits to feel beautiful without becoming overly posed: desert light, open space, wind, rocks, ridiculous kids, real affection—all of it belongs.
