Some weddings are personal in the best way. I used to know this couple from my restaurant days—they were regulars—and when a mutual friend connected us for their wedding, it just felt right. Their celebration at The Morada Joshua Tree was everything I love about a wedding in Joshua Tree: cozy, meaningful, and deeply rooted in the natural beauty of the desert.
The Morada Joshua Tree is a total gem for an intimate gathering or a Yucca Valley micro wedding. Set on a ridge with sweeping down-valley views, the location feels both expansive and tucked away. The rock formations behind the house are iconic—especially at sunset, when the desert light hits just right. That golden glow gave us some of my favorite 35mm film shots of the day, full of warmth and nostalgia.

It was a cool spring evening, so the pool went unused—but the setting felt cozy and perfect for gathering. A few different fire pits roared to warm hands. The open kitchen made it easy for catering and last-minute prep, while guests lounged inside, laughing and sharing stories. It was the kind of wedding that didn’t need anything extra—just good people in a beautiful space.
If you’re considering The Morada for your celebration, it’s worth noting that parking is limited. But if you’re hosting a larger guest list, you can easily arrange shuttles from the nearby elementary school just down the road. It’s a smart solution that keeps the flow of the day smooth and lets guests enjoy the space without stress.

Whether you're planning a micro wedding in Yucca Valley or dreaming up a golden hour wedding in Joshua Tree, The Morada is a venue that hits all the right notes—natural beauty, thoughtful design, and a grounded desert vibe. And if you're looking for timeless, emotional images captured on both digital and 35mm film, I'd love to tell your story.
