Every fall, I get questions about fall mini sessions—when I'm offering them, where they'll be, and how they're different from a regular family photography session. The truth is, I don't really do traditional mini sessions. I offer a handful of Limited Fall Sessions on specific dates in Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, Pioneertown, and Laguna Beach. They're $400, include all of the edited images (expect around 75!) with full print rights, and are designed to be an easy, quick update to your family photos. You pick an available time, show up, and we're ready to go. No back-and-forth trying to coordinate calendars or choose the perfect date.

Desert Family Photos at a Discount?

Palm Springs family photographer? So why can I offer these sessions at a lower price than a full family session? Efficiency! Instead of driving to Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, or the beach for one family, I'm traveling once and photographing several families back-to-back. Editing works the same way. Because every session was photographed in roughly the same light and location, I can batch portions of my editing rather than starting from scratch with completely different lighting and color conditions for every gallery. The session itself is shorter, too. Those efficiencies allow me to offer fall family photos at a discounted rate without discounting the actual finished product. In fact, you'll still receive around 75 edited photographs—more images than many photographers deliver from a full session.

The biggest difference is what we can accomplish during our time together. During a full session, we have time for the whole story: individual portraits, every combination of kids and parents, plenty of movement, quiet moments, and room to let things unfold naturally. A Limited Fall Session isn't meant to check every single box. It's a quick update. I'm a storyteller, and even with less time, I'm watching for the interactions and little moments that tell me something about your family—not working my way down a rigid shot list. You're hiring me for my eye and my perspective as an artist. We'll absolutely make beautiful portraits of everyone together, but if your priority is every possible family combination or you want more time for your kids to warm up and settle in, a full session is the better choice.

Each session is $400 and includes all edited images with full print rights, with approximately 75 photographs expected in the finished gallery. These are the only discounted fall dates I'm offering; my remaining calendar is reserved for full sessions, with weekday half sessions also available.
